At the $5000 mark, every component is of the highest quality and serves a superb purpose, making this build our greatest PC recommendation to date. This PC build can virtually do anything; however, at this price, it could be considered overkill for just gaming.
What You Get For Your $5000
At the $5000 mark, you are close to the elites of custom PCs and are maybe one step away from having a liquid-cooled dream machine. There are no compromises on aesthetics, performance, or quality at this budget! The bottom line is, for such a premium price, you can be sure to get the very best components out there.
Performance
When it comes to performance, this computer will not let you down. Gaming performance alone is of the highest quality, and that is down to the extreme components inside. We see a high-end Ryzen CPU feature, which is currently one of the best CPUs on the market. The CPU combines in this gaming rig with the most powerful GPU ever created to take care of all demanding games and will future-proof your setup for years to come.
To back up the powerful components, we have gone with arguably one of the best motherboards currently available. This mobo will stay strong and give you the reassurance you need to push your system to its limits. To help boost the performance, we see high capacity, fast RAM included, too, which goes a long way with Ryzen processors. Lastly, to finish off the build, we see a large 4.0 M.2 to give you all the speedy boot times you need.
AMD Vs. Intel
While there is a strong argument for the gaming benefits of Intel’s processors, the versatility of the new Ryzen chips is too good to pass on. AMD offers unbelievable power for your money, and while the single-core performance isn’t anything to note, the multitasking power is unrivaled.
How We Choose
Our team has years of experience behind them, building PCs for a range of needs and budgets. All this knowledge, combined with hours of research, user feedback, and onsite benchmarking, is what goes into choosing the best components for our builds.
We look for value for money, how the components perform together and focus on gamer’s needs to make sure our builds are the best your budget can buy.
We build all these PCs ourselves, in-house, so trust us when we say we want to make them as good as possible. We actually use all these builds ourselves day-to-day in the WePC offices.
How We Test
We build each of our selected PCs from scratch to make sure all the parts we recommend work well together, fit into the selected case, and provide the best performance possible for the price range.
Once built, the PCs are used in the office for everyday work as well as a range of games from light to heavy-duty. While we test, we also run benchmarking tests to see how well our builds perform, all while keeping an eye on the temperature of the components themselves.
We know how much some of our readers enjoy overclocking their PCs, so we made sure to test that out too. So, you can feel safe knowing that these machines can be pushed beyond their basic capabilities. But, please make sure you know how to overclock before trying to over-task your builds.
NOTE: Due to the ongoing effects of the global coronavirus pandemic, some retailers are experiencing stock issues. WePC constantly updates our pages to reflect current availability, so if the PC you want shows as out of stock, check back later or check out these alternatives.

Things To Consider
Budget
All of the builds we recommend here at WePC are, of course, split into different budget categories. That being said, when your budget is $5000, you can pretty much have any computer you desire. For the hardcore gamers out there, this is going to be the best experience you will ever have, with insanely high frame rates and some of the best graphical power in the business. Casual and 4K lovers don’t worry, this PC will allow you to achieve unreal FPS counts even in the highest of resolutions. We try our best to keep these custom PC builds within the budget target, but from time to time, the price can fluctuate. This fluctuation is mostly down to Amazon’s market, but we will be regularly checking the build to ensure it’s the best recommendation throughout the year.
Upgradability & Future-Proofing
This high-end gaming PC is full to the brim with heavy-duty components, and there is no room for upgrades. The rig is future-proofed to the max, and it will bring some seriously good results for many years to come. The only logical next step is, of course, the new Ryzen Threadripper processors and a custom water cooling loop.
Overclocking
This PC build is in no hurry to be overclocked, it’s one of the best you can buy but that doesn’t mean it can’t be boosted. There are customers out there that will always look to squeeze more value out of their components, and we have you covered. We have ensured we pick products that have overclocking capabilities and won’t leave you with a big burning hole (in your pocket or case).
Remember to double-check your RAM speeds once installed as it will unlikely to be running at its full potential. The motherboard is designed to handle overclocking, so all you need to do is go into the BIOS and XMP the RAM to 3600MHz.
Ease Of Building
The $5000 build is nothing out of the ordinary, in fact, building it was pretty much the same as the $2000 build we recommend. The selected case is unbelievably spacious and made the whole process extremely simple. There were no clearance issues, and the CPU cooler radiator fit like a glove. A plus with this case was the included pre-installed fans, keeping the system cool and saving you from buying extras. As mentioned, the case manufacturer is really at the top of the game, and you can see this with quality cable management options.
A screwdriver was the only tool required to complete the build, but if you want to ensure you protect your components fully, then invest in anti-static equipment. It is worth noting that the cooler will come with a small tube of thermal pate for you to apply some fresh paste on your CPU. We advise wiping off the old thermal paste and applying a branded type like the ones from our best thermal paste roundup. The better the thermal paste and application mean, the better your thermal performance will be.
Non-Gaming Performance
The gaming performance is unquestionable in the $5000, so no surprises there. But how does this custom PC stack up in other areas? Well, thanks to the powerful AMD processor and fast-acting DDR4 RAM, it does exceptionally well. The multithreaded processor makes this a great option for content creation. It would be considered overkill to just game on a machine like this, but if you plan on rendering videos or multi-tasking, then you are in for a real treat.
Aesthetics
The $5000 build comes with a high-quality case that is built to last and improves the overall aesthetics of the PC without any extra effort. The case features tempered glass panels to allow you to see the glorious RGB components inside.
You may want to sync all of your fans up together, and you can as the case also features a fan controller. If you are considering an extra RGB fan for the back of the case or maybe some braided PSU cables, then, by all means, get that PC pimped out further.
